Brainspotting is a focused, brain–body trauma therapy developed by Dr. David Grand in 2003.
It works by helping your therapist locate “brainspots”, specific points in your field of vision associated with emotional or bodily tension — and hold focus there to support processing and release.
Unlike talk-only therapy, Brainspotting allows deeper access to emotional and physiological patterns without needing to re-narrate every detail.

How Brainspotting Therapy Works

- Initial Assessment & Intention Setting
We begin by exploring your goals, history, and what you hope to address. - Spotting & Focus
I guide you to watch a pointer or visual grid, slowing down until we find a spot where sensations, emotions, or thoughts intensify. - This becomes your “brainspot.”
Held Processing
You’ll maintain gentle focus on that spot while allowing whatever arises — emotions, physical sensations, memories, to unfold. I provide a safe container and attuned presence. - Integration & Reflection
After the processing, we pause, check in, and integrate insights or shifts. You may rest, journal, or engage in grounding exercises.
Because we conduct sessions online, you can do this from a private, safe space of your choosing. The therapeutic quality of Brainspotting translates well into telehealth formats.
